THE NEIGHBORHOOD LA CANDELARIA

*  Located in the eastern sector of the Historic Center, preserves the memory of the little town that was the start of the great metropolis. Its steep, narrow streets, its houses with roofs and eaves were colonial birthplace and home of the Spanish Creole aristocracy. Currently focus on this sector with a rich museums and cultural arts. Also interesting churches, cultural settings such as Colon Theather.

 We recommend a walk through its streets, especially the street 10 between races 3 ª. and 7 the where you can see houses of great beauty. In this sector also finds numerous colonial churches and the Museums, a place not to be missed.










MONSERRATE






 * The church founded in the seventeenth century and renovated in 1925, is venerated Señor Caido, miraculous image. devotees ask for favors or give thanks often walk up


* The hill has been a place of pilgrimage since colonial times, entering the santuary, the altar display the Señor Caido de Monserrate revered image, carving in the sixteenth century, made by Pedro De Lugo Albarracin

 *  The highest hills of Bogotá a place of pilgrimage, the best point of view of the city whit some restaurants and handicraft sales.



* The ascent by cable car or funicular.  Is a romantic place and eats well, is visited for many devotees, you should keep in mind that the place is dangerous.

The National Museum

The National Museum of Colombia is the oldest museum of museums in the country and Latin America, the museum's collection is divided in four areas: art, history, archeology and ethnography.



In the museum you can find works of art in Colombia, Latin America and Europe, including paintings, prints and sculptures from the colonial period until today.


It was founded on July 4th in1824 and was built by the architect Thomas Reed, throughout its history the National Museum of Colombia has been moved in several locations.

The Gold museum  

The Gold museum belongs to the Banco de la Republica of Colombia, it is located in the historical center of Bogota and it has the collection of the world's largest pre-Hispanic gold work. It was inaugurated in 1968 and was designed by architect German Samper.



When the Gold Museum was finished it became into an exciting new cultural center dedicated to issues of anthropology, archeology, heritage and identity.



Gold Museum preserves and investigates one of the most important collections of pre Hispanic metallurgy in the world. When finish the project for expansion and renovation of the museum of gold, citizens and tourists have an exciting new cultural center dedicated to issues of anthropology, archeology, heritage and identity.

  Drink that is obtained through the fruits and seeds of cafeto, This plant contains a stimulant substance called caffeine.
The cafe is one of the beverage most popular in the world, his exquisite aroma and flavor offer a sensations that encourage the physical and spiritual condition of the one that takes it.
The coffee is usually taken at breakfast or after meals, there are infinite ways to take. Is one of the principal products of export in Colombia.
The cafe is divided in two species:
-Arábica
-Robusta
The Colombian Coffe is Arábica.

In the middle of the economic crisis it is one of the works that more abounds in the city of Bogota.
